AGRICULTURE (AGRI) SETA COURSES

National Certificate: Animal Production NQF Level 2

The purpose of this qualification is to allow junior personnel and elected candidates to progress towards a position of farm labourer (operator) with specific reference to Animal Production.

Admission requirements: Numeracy, literacy and communication equivalent to NQF 1 and technical skills pertaining to agricultural activities equivalent to NQF 1.

 

National Certificate: Animal Production NQF Level 3

The purpose of this qualification is to equip students with focused knowledge and skills in primary animal production.

Admission requirements: Numeracy, literacy and communication equivalent to NQF 2 and technical skills pertaining to agricultural activities equivalent to NQF 2.

National Certificate: Business Analysis Support Practice NQF Level 5

The purpose of this qualification is to enhance readiness and provide entry into the areas of Systems Development at NQF level 5. It prepares learners for entry into the workplace or as undergraduate study in the Systems Development areas covered, providing them with the necessary knowledge needed for further study in the fields of Information Technology and Computer Sciences at Higher Education level.

Further Education and Training Certificate: Information Technology: Technical Support NQF Level 5

The purpose of this qualification is to build a foundational entry into the field of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, specifically into the field of Systems Support, covering basic knowledge needed for further study in the field of Systems Support at Higher Education levels.

Admission requirements: Communication equivalent to NQF 4 and Computer Literacy at NQF 4.

National Certificate: Information Technology: End user Computing NQF Level 3

The purpose of the qualification is to build the knowledge and skills required by learners in End User Computing. It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently in the End User Computing environment in the South African community and to respond to the challenges of the economic environment.

Admission requirements: Competent in skills gained at the further education and training band up to NQF level 2.

ENERGY & WATER (EW) SETA COURSE

National Certificate: Water and Wastewater Treatment Process Operations NQF Level 2

This qualification is aimed at people who work or intend to work in water and wastewater treatment plants and seek recognition for essential skills in water and wastewater treatment works. This qualification will provide learners with a basic knowledge and understanding of the water and wastewater treatment works.

Admission requirements: Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.

 

National Certificate: Water and Wastewater Treatment Process Operations NQF Level 3

This qualification will prepare learners to function independently on water or wastewater treatment works. A person acquiring this qualification will be able to operate and control specific processes at a water or wastewater treatment works within the context of legislation and work policies and procedures.

Admission requirements: Communication , Mathematical literacy and Computer literacy at NQF Level 2.

 

National Certificate: Community Water, Health and Sanitation Promotion NQF Level 2

The purpose of this qualification is to equip leaners with skills to promote responsible environmental activities amongst community members and effective communication between the community and relevant stakeholders. They will be able to explain and promote environmental health and sanitation, while working effectively with local communities.

Admission requirements: Mathematical Literacy, Communication at NQF Level 1. General Education and Training Certificate: Water Services.

 

Further Education and Training Certificate: Water and Wastewater Treatment Process Control Supervision NQF Level 4

This qualification is intended for people who are responsible for supervising the operation of individual processes on a water and wastewater works and who are at the same time responsible for coordinating all processes on the works during a shift to ensure that it functions as an integrated whole. This qualification will prepare learners to function independently and in a supervisory capacity to ensure that workers work in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations and relevant legislation.

Admission requirements: Communication skills, Mathematical literacy and Computer literacy at NQF Level 3. Knowledge of sampling and jar testing at NQF Level 3.

 

National Certificate: Community Water, Health and Sanitation Promotion NQF Level 3

This qualification will:

– Prepare learners to conduct quality control in accordance with all aspects of applicable procedures and regulations.

– Identify and make recommendations for appropriate interventions.

– Communicate effectively.

– Ensure policy compliance with regard to principles of Water, Health and Hygiene.

– Monitor the Operation and Maintenance activities of sanitation services. Supervise teams in the workplace.

Admission requirements: Communication, Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2 or equivalent. National Certificate: Community Water, Sanitation and Health Promotion at NQF Level 2 or equivalent.

 

National Certificate: Electrical Engineering NQF Level 2

This qualification will:

– Prepare learners to be able to understand electrical equipment and protection technology and interpret integrated system schematics.

– Install and commission electrical equipment on integrated electrical systems.

– Maintain and repair electrical equipment on integrated electrical systems.

– Evaluate and solve familiar problems pertaining to electrical equipment, integrated electrical systems and related processes.

– Accept responsibility for utilising and maintaining equipment without working under direct supervision.

Admission requirements: Language and Maths at NQF Level 3. National Certificate in Electrical Engineering NQF Level 3 or an equivalent qualification.

BANK SETA COURSES

National Certificate: Banking Services Advice NQF Level 5

The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with the fundamental understanding, sound knowledge and relevant skills to comply with the requirements of the regulations under the FAIS Act enabling them to offer financial advice to clients in the banking sector. The successful learner will then be able to be accredited as a qualified professional rendering financial advice in the banking sector in terms of the Regulations under the FAIS Act.

Admission requirements: Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4.

 

National Certificate: Financial Markets and Instruments NQF Level 6

The purpose of this qualification is to contribute to the full personal development of each learner and the socio-economic development of the society at large, particularly in the context of the financial markets and investments. It aims to provide a solution to historically limited access to financial markets.

Admission requirements: Mathematical literacy at NQF level 5, Communication literacy at NQF level 4 and Economic competency at NQF level 5.

 

National Certificate: Generic Management NQF Level 5

The primary purpose of this qualification is to equip leaners with ability to manage first line managers in an organisational entity. First line managers may include team leaders, supervisors, junior managers, section heads and foremen. The focus of this qualification is to enable learners to develop competence in a range of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values including: Initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational strategies, projects and action plans, and where appropriate, recommending change within teams and/or the unit so as to improve the effectiveness of the unit.
